St Matthew’s is honored to be a host site for an EGAN Warming Center when the temperature dips below freezing November -March.  Interested in volunteering?  Please visit www.eganwarmingcenter.com and fill out a volunteer application.

– Hosts a Community Garden in partnership with Huerto de La Familia and the Santa Clara Community Organization to provide fresh, organic food support to those in our community.

– Partners with our local Awbrey Park Elementary School three times throughout the year to:

  • provide 30 backpacks filled with school supplies for the beginning of the school year.
  • provide Thanksgiving Turkey dinner baskets for 30 families
  • provide Christmas gifts to children in need as identified by the school

– Partners with Church of the Resurrection in south Eugene in assembling and distributing “Home Starter Kits” which provide household items to people in transition after rehab, prison, homelessness, shelters or relocation year round.

– Assembles and ships shoe boxes filled with small but special Christmas gifts with “Operation Christmas Child” in partnership with Samaritan’s Purse Ministries

– Hosts AA and Al-Anon recovery groups each week

– Hosts a local Cub Scout Troop #106 on Monday Nights
